  • Despite the team’s attachment to the kit’s initial design and the initial success it had, the team saw various opportunities to make the product accessible to a wider audience. And so, they went back to the workshop to simplify and reduce the kit’s weight (the initial design weighed 12 kg!)
  • Meanwhile Rayan and Wael started to give after school workshops at 3 schools introducing engineering concepts to kits who would build their own houses using Bildits. Through these workshops Rayan and Wael were able to get immediate feedback on changes made to the kits and discovered how Bildits can become a great tool in the education sector as well
  • After trying the kits not only were children attached to Bildits and wanted their own kits, but parents, teachers and heads of educational institutes all praised the work that was being done. It was therefore clear: Bildits is an educational tool that was really beneficial for kids, it allowed them to learn new concepts, develop creativity, develop motor skills and think outside the box while having lots of fun
  • The second Bildits version, financed partially by a 15,000$ Grant from “ISME Kafalat” and partially by a loan from Rayan’s family, was tested in Bildits educational summer camp. After the positive feedback by the participants in the camp and some fine tuning the second version of Bildits was ready to be launched
  • Bildits pitched their educational program to various schools around the country and 18 schools adopted it early on with a total of 500 students registered for the weekly activities. University students trained at Bildits and delivered the Bildits workshops
  • Having increased its manufacturing capacity, the team manufactured materials for 500 kits however making humble speculations due to outside economical factors, only 300 were packaged and dispatched. However, after a sudden demand for the remaining 200 Bildits, with the help of the Bildits community of friends and family were able to deliver and sold all our stock at major toy stores throughout the country.
