Overview

Students will design and build the house of their dreams with their own hands by following actual engineering practices and construction process: from designing the house, to constructing steel structures, installing formwork, pouring cement, building masonry walls, painting, and more. Throughout this process, students apply most of the theoretical scientific learnings learned in class.

The program uses Bildits’ proprietary award-winning STEM toys and equipment that are miniature replicas of construction materials and equipment found in today’s construction sites. Each piece of equipment has passed rigorous international safety standards including the ASTM, CE Mark and GMARK.

Our Approach

The curriculum is designed by engineers and pedagogical experts from UNICEF and follows STEM pedagogical and development guidelines set by international education standards including the US Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Common Core State Standards, and UAE Science standards. Our instructors adopt the 5E teaching and learning model in the delivery of our program: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate.

Bildits goes beyond teaching students about construction. It nurtures their ingenuity, drives curiosity, promotes problem-solving and improves psychomotor skills.

Over 100 schools are enrolled in the program. Each workshop is facilitated by a qualified instructor who is trained to teach young creators’ skills that’ll serve them well in life and also instill a sense of pride in them for completing a build.

Program Format

The program is composed of 10 different courses designed for students between 6 and 12 years old. Each course consists of 10 weekly sessions of 90 minutes each. The program is modular and can be adjusted to fit the needs of each school. More than 40% of students enrolled in our workshops today are girls, which helps break gender roles and bridge the gender gaps that are traditionally found in STEM fields by providing equal opportunities and support to all
